Vehement quickly pushed me behind him and held the knife at ready as the creature continued to advance. Again the horrible crying echoed forth from the wound in the creature’s stomach, this time accompanied with fresh waves of blood.
I had seen several monsters in Silent Hill. All of them were creepy or odd in some way, but this was the first one that truly scared me. I was absolutely terrified of this new monster and couldn’t figure out why. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the hole in it’s stomach, couldn’t stop shivering as I saw the blood leaking out and heard the cries of a child.
“Avril, what’s wrong?” Vehement asked, keeping his eyes on the monster and his knife drawn. Suddenly the crying intensified and blood shot out of the wound, almost hitting Vehement and me. I screamed and shot back from the puddle of blood on the floor. My eyes were playing tricks on me, for I saw children’s faces in the blood, little babies faces that were screaming.
I didn’t notice that Vehement was driving away the monster. All I noticed was the blood on the floor and the images that I saw within it. Again the blood shot out towards Vehement and I, but this time the smallest bit landed on my arm.
The moment the blood landed on my arm, I shot backwards, leaning against the wall as I panted in terror. Without thinking, I ran. I could hear Vehement calling for me, but his voice was drowned out by the cry of hundreds of children.
It was as if I passed out. I couldn’t see where I was going and was only aware that I continued to run, as if I was being chased by something.
Then, as if I was waking from a deep sleep, my eyes snapped open. I was lying on the floor of an abandoned room in the hospital, which had several desks and papers scattered all over the floor and the desks.
I didn’t know where in the Hospital I was. I had no idea how much time had passed since I ran and no idea how to get back to Vehement.
Deciding to try and find my brother, I slowly started to stand. However as soon as I got to a kneeling position a wave of pain washed over me, before centering around my stomach.
I cried out in pain, my hands clutching at my stomach. When it finally died down, I was about to try and stand again, when I felt something inside of me move...
